Beijer Tech signs agreement to acquire Källström Engineering Systems

Beijer Alma’s subsidiary Beijer Tech has signed an agreement to acquire 85.6% of the shares in Källström Engineering Systems AB (“Källström”). The acquisition is expected to be completed during the third quarter of 2021.

Källström designs and produces filling and mixing equipment for corrosive agents, primarily for the international battery industry. The company has a high level of technical competence with almost 30 years of experience from the industry and a well-established brand with long customer relationships. Källström has sales of approximately SEK 35 million with good profitability.

Beijer Tech’s CEO, Staffan Johansson, comments on the deal “I am impressed by the market position Källström has managed to build up with a large share of international sales and I am pleased that we have completed this acquisition. The company is well-managed, niched and gives Beijer Tech a new product area in an exciting future industry. ”

Källströms CEO, Anders Källström, comments on the deal: “We look forward to develop our business further together with Beijer Tech. We are convinced that we have found the right strategic partner in Beijer Tech for Källströms long-term development and future growth.”

After the transaction, the three previous main owners will continue to remain as operating minority owners to continue to develop the business together with Beijer Tech. In connection with the transaction, Källström’s CEO, Anders Källström, has chosen to take on a new role as technical manager and hand over the role of CEO to the company’s current construction manager, Jim Sandberg. The third co-owner, Bo Johansson, will continue as before in his role as sales manager.

Beijer Alma’s CEO, Henrik Perbeck, also comments on the deal: “Through the acquisition of Källström, Beijer Tech continues its strategy to acquire good companies in exciting niches with a high degree of refinement.”
